AREL Launches ₦20 Billion Bond Programme to Fund Expansion

The proceeds of the Series 1 issuance are intended to support the Company's working capital requirements, while the wider ₦20 billion Programme provides AREL with a platform to access the debt capital market progressively as its expansion programme advances.

AREL currently holds approximately 7,000 hectares across its Ohosu and Okoro estates in Edo State. The Company's longer-term development plans include expanding its oil palm plantation operations, increasing processing capacity through the proposed installation of a 30-tonne-per-hour palm oil mill, and developing palm kernel oil extraction capacity to broaden its participation across the palm oil value chain.

The Company's entry into the capital market follows a period of corporate and financial restructuring aimed at strengthening AREL's institutional framework and positioning the business for its next phase of growth.

AREL entered the market with an investment-grade BBB credit rating from DataPro, reflecting the Company's financial standing and providing a foundation for future capital-market activity.

The transaction represents an important step in AREL's strategy to combine its longstanding agricultural heritage and substantial land assets with institutional capital to expand production, processing capacity and its contribution to Nigeria's domestic palm oil industry.
